On November 3rd 2017, LCOS member, Sergeant James Martinez (assisted by Sgt. Dan Freisem) quickly responded to a call for medical assistance in the public parking lot of the Cohalan Complex. Arriving on the scene, they found a 28-year-old male subject unconscious in his vehicle with labored breathing and cyanotic skin tone. Sgt. Martinez, who is a certified EMT, administered two doses of Narcan and the subject quickly regained consciousness. Care was then transferred to the responding ambulance crew.
On Law Day, May 1, 2018, Sergeant James Martinez will be on honored for his service and will receive the Judith S. Kaye Service Award!
